So I followed my own advice today... I cancelled one of my plans for today, took some time to catch up on Grey's Anatomy (woo hoo!) and to do a bit of planning for the month of October. I prioritized what must be done versus what could be dropped if necessary and I am feeling much better. I even spent some quality time reprioritizing the Tivo to better meet me needs! New month, new plan to take some control back in my life.
You can do it too - take a deep breath, get some sleep and then wake up fresh to gain a new perspective on what is making you happy, what are the "must haves" in your life and where are their opportunities to steal a few moments back for your own personal sanity. Find those places in your schedule, plan for them - I mean block out the time - and hold to them. You are not available for other people during those times and that is okay... in fact, it is fabulous! Bask in these sweet moments of pure enjoyment of what life should be.
And on that note, I am grabbing my book and a glass of wine and heading out to enjoy what's left of this lovely fall day.
