Small Words Can Inspire Vast Confidence & Motivation

Today my boss sent me a little email first thing this morning so it was one of the first things I read when I got in this morning. It could have gone either way - good or bad... but luckily, it turned out to be super supportive and nice.

She said, "Thanks for continuing to work hard despite the fact that this continues to be a frustrating time for you due to lack of support with us all running around on so many other projects. But, it's a tough job and you do it exceptionally well."

It was not a long email or even than insightful but it showed that she was thinking about me and recognizing not only my inevitable frustrations during this difficult time but more importantly my hard work. It was a simple gesture but so important. It's amazing how a positive attitude and a few kind words can really boost ones (or a team's) morale.

I challenge each of us to find a way to inspire confidence and motivation among those we work with everyday (or at the very least, once a week) by acknowleding their hard work with kind words... remember, it does not take a lot to go a long way!

Have a great night,

Michelle, Her Career Coach
