I just read an article yesterday in the NY Times about working moms who savor business travel as a means to escape. Sure she is torn by being away from her children and all of the preparation that goes into making everything run smoothly while she is away, but the truth is that she enjoys a bit of "me time" every now and then.
So I talked to a friend who is a working mom about this to get the first-hand perspective and sure enough - this article was dead on.
Jenny said, "I can totally see that – I would love to escape for a few days – even if I was working the whole time. I would get to sleep in a clean room and have breakfast served to me – take a bath in a clean tub – not smell baby poo and/or get it on my hands – not hear my husband ranting and raving about business – where do I sign up?!?"
Are you a working mom? How do you feel about business travel - both in theory and in reality?
Leave your comments here - I would love to hear from you!
